The creative mind
What makes you curious? What are you questioning, noticing or thinking about?
We're interested in what's going on inside your creative mind.
Creatively Eccentric explores the unusual ways creative people think, create, experiment and challenge the norm.
We're not looking for another conversation about someone's job title, business achievements or latest launch.
We're interested in the ideas, processes, experiments, decisions and unexpected approaches behind the work.
Not another business interview. Not another sales pitch. A proper conversation about thinking differently.
BOLD IDEAS. UNCONVENTIONAL CREATIVITY. ZERO APOLOGIES.

The thinking behind the work
Your job title tells us what you do. Your portfolio shows us what you've made. But neither necessarily tells us what makes you interesting.
We want to get curious about the things that make your creative approach distinctly yours.
Maybe you see things differently. Perhaps you've developed an unusual way of working, challenged an industry convention or stumbled across an idea that completely changed your perspective.
Maybe you're experimenting with something that hasn't quite come together yet.
What gets us curious
What makes you curious? What are you questioning, noticing or thinking about?
Your methods, experiments, habits, systems and creative decisions.
Creative rabbit holes, abandoned ideas, experiments and things you're still figuring out.
Alternative methods, unpopular opinions and the rules you've decided to ignore.
Unexpected influences, fascinating connections and fresh ways of looking at familiar things.
Who makes a good guest?
We're interested in creative professionals, thinkers, makers and people who approach their work in unconventional ways.

A quick reality check
Let's get this out of the way.
Creatively Eccentric probably isn't the right podcast if you're:
Having a business, product, book or service is absolutely fine. These can make excellent conversation starters.
But the business isn't the episode. The thinking behind it is.
Help us picture the episode
We want to explore ideas rather than simply hear a list of achievements. Here's a little inspiration to get you thinking.
| Instead of telling us... | We'd rather explore... |
|---|---|
| How I became an illustrator | Why I deliberately leave room for creative experimentation. |
| How I built my business | Why I've chosen an unconventional approach to growing my business. |
| My career journey | How stepping outside the traditional career path changed the way I work. |
| What my design studio does | The thinking and decisions behind the way I approach design problems. |
| How I overcame a challenge | What that experience changed about my creative practice. |
You can suggest up to three conversation ideas when you apply.
What would we actually talk about?
What makes your approach or experience different?
What might listeners learn, question or see differently?
We want to understand why this conversation needs to happen.
Before you pitch
We appreciate people who take the time to understand the podcast they're approaching.
If you're referencing a particular episode, please make sure you've actually listened to it.
A thoughtful, genuine pitch will always mean more than generic compliments or an AI-generated message that could have been sent to any podcast.

Your turn
Perhaps it's an idea you've been sitting on.
A strange experiment. An unconventional approach. A way of working that other people don't quite understand. Or a question you've been wanting someone to ask you.
You don't have to fit the mould. You don't have to have everything figured out.
You just need to bring your ideas, your curiosity and your wonderfully eccentric way of seeing the world.
We'd love to hear what you're working on, what you're thinking about and what makes your approach different.
Put yourself on our radar.
